From the Classroom to the Community, Your Support Matters
May has been full of powerful moments that reflect the heart of what we do. In this month’s newsletter discover how your generosity is helping students across Edmonton thrive, one program at a time.
Bridging the Digital Divide: Empowering Student Success with Learning Tools and Technology
In today’s classrooms access to technology is essential. However, for many families in Edmonton, access to this technology is not guaranteed.
Through the Chromebooks for Kids program, we’re working hard to close the digital divide. In the 2023–2024 school year alone, the Chromebooks for Kids program distributed 538 devices to students from across 76 schools, our highest demand yet. So far this school year, more than 600 devices have already been distributed to students across the city, and referrals continue to come in.
These devices are more than just tools; they’re gateways to opportunity. They empower students to participate fully in their education and reach their potential. Thanks to your generosity, students across Edmonton Public Schools are getting the tools they need to succeed, no matter where they learn.
Your continued support makes all the difference.

National Mental Health Awareness Week
Earlier this month, we recognized Mental Health Awareness Week, and we’re still reflecting on the importance of creating safe, caring spaces where every student feels supported and ready to learn. After all, when we invest in mental wellness, we invest in brighter futures.
Our Mental Wellness pillar supports programs and resources that help students build resilience, feel connected, and reach their full potential.

Q: Why do you believe it’s important to invest in students beyond the classroom?
“It’s incredibly important to invest in students beyond the classroom because their learning and development aren’t confined to those four walls. A student’s well-being, including their mental, emotional, social, and physical health, significantly impacts their ability to learn and thrive academically. When we support students holistically, we’re fostering a stronger foundation for their overall success.”
