A Legacy in Motion: Dr. Linda Miller’s 16-Year Journey with the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation

From steering the Foundation through a changing educational landscape to launching the new "Move for Kids" initiative (more on that below!), Dr. Miller has been a cornerstone of support for Edmonton Public Schools.
"If you have the opportunity to grow up in a good public education system, you can go anywhere." - Dr. Linda Miller

Inspired by Dr. Linda Miller’s 16 years of dedication to the Foundation, "Move for Kids" is our new spring campaign centered on the belief that physical activity is a catalyst for mental health and academic success. Starting May 4, we’re calling on students, families and community members to choose their own way to move and help remove barriers to learning across 214 schools.
Whether you are a student, a parent or a community builder, your participation helps fund vital supports like school nutrition, mental health initiatives and technology.
Let’s get ready to Move for Kids!

April 23 was World Book Day - a global celebration of the joy of reading! At the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, we know that literacy is the foundation for a lifetime of success.
To celebrate World Book Day, we were excited to announce a renewed partnership with Jayman BUILT and the Westman Charitable Foundation in support of literacy and nutrition. With a generous new commitment of $300,000, they are helping us level the playing field for students in our community.
Last week, we celebrated this donation at Callingwood School (one of 15 schools receiving funding this year!) with a cheque presentation and special guest, Diana Joseph, President of the Westman Charitable Foundation, reading aloud to the group. Jayman BUILT even gifted every student in attendance a brand-new book to take home!
Thank you, Jayman BUILT and the Westman Charitable Foundation, for your incredible impact!
