About Maureen
Maureen Matthews brings over 43 years of service to Edmonton Public Schools as a student, teacher and administrator — including leadership roles at Highlands and Eastglen. She is now honoured to serve as Principal of Norwood School.
Grounded in a comprehensive K–12 perspective, Maureen is dedicated to fostering genuine partnerships with community organizations, corporate supporters and non-profit service clubs to remove barriers for students and their families.
Beyond the school walls, Maureen actively serves the community through volunteer work with the McCauley Boys and Girls Club and as a board member for Fun Team Alberta. In her spare time, Maureen enjoys reading, playing basketball, tuning into baseball games, and spending time with family, friends, and her three large dogs.
Q: What was your favourite subject in school and why?
A: I am an avid reader so Language Arts/English was always my favorite subject.
Q: Do you have a favourite memory from school?
A: I loved being in school; I have too many favourite memories to name just one!
