Spotted: The Edmonton Public Schools Foundation team at Edify Edmonton’s Sip, Sample and Savour event!
On Monday April 7, our team attended the Edify Edmonton Sip, Sample and Savour event to celebrate the best restaurants in Edmonton. We were honoured to be the charitable partner for this event and took the opportunity to chat with guests about Top-ups for Tummies and School Nutrition.
Thank you to the thriving Edmonton foodie community for including us!
World Book Day
This month, we joined communities around the world in celebrating World Book Day - a day that honours the power of books and the joy of reading for all ages.
World Book Day is also a time for us to reflect on how literacy can open doors for children. Over the last 15 years, we have seen firsthand why it’s important to ensure every student has the opportunity to foster a love of reading.
At the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, our mission remains clear: to level the playing field for children who come to school at a disadvantage. By supporting literacy through classroom libraries, students are empowered to dream big and reach their full potential.
These classroom collections of high-quality, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive books provide students with easy access to stories that reflect who they are, and more importantly, who they can become.
To every donor and partner who supports literacy in our schools: thank you. Your generosity helps create classrooms where reading is encouraged, celebrated, and accessible to all.
Together, we are building the readers and leaders of tomorrow.

Celebrating National Volunteer Week
This week (April 28-May 3) is National Volunteer Week!
National Volunteer Week is an annual reminder to celebrate the magic that happens when people share their time, talent, and energy to strengthen our communities. At the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, we’re honoured to have 10 community champions on our Board of Directors.
To every Board member: your vision, expertise, and countless volunteer hours fuel literacy initiatives, nutrition programs, and wrap‑around supports that help Edmonton students thrive. Because of you, we are levelling the playing field for children coming to the classroom at a disadvantage.
From all of us at the Foundation, Edmonton Public Schools, and the thousands of learners whose futures you help shape - THANK YOU! ❤️
