The Foundation supports our youngest learners through Full-day Kindergarten, which is the funding for the additional half a day of teaching in some of our most socially vulnerable schools. Full-day Kindergarten supports our youngest learners with extra time in the classroom, when they need it most.
In Alberta, only half-day Kindergarten is mandated and funded by the Government of Alberta; however, we know that some students require extra time in the classroom in order to be ready for Grade 1 and beyond.
Full-day Kindergarten provides the gift of time for our most at-risk children to catch up to their peers, build skills, behaviors, and mindset needed to thrive in school, and ultimately earn a high school diploma, and have a successful adult life.
Donations support Full-day Kindergarten programs at Beacon Heights, Calder, Lauderdale, Mee-Yah-Noh, Princeton and Tipaskan Schools.
